Why the hell did you choose this theme?

Why not?

The truth is, “Spermson” just sounds funny to me, and I need material to test my master model, Dice & Cards, to see how practical it really is for making games and how much time I spend building experiences. Unlike Sweet & Savory, Spermson follows a straight line, allowing me to fit routes and events as needed—which is precisely why I designed this master model.

The theme itself came from a particularly challenging scene for me, where I was refining concepts around the origin of life for Siege of Amal. I found myself laughing because I had to weave metaphysics into something purely biological. So, my first draft replicated the structure of Rambo 4’s infamous .50-Caliber Machine Gun scene, where Siham tries to breach a barrier while the abomination defends it. It’s a weird mix of metaphysics that mirrors the journey of life and birth. But as I read through it, I found it funny—too intense for something rudimentary with little space for grandiosity. So for this purpose it was discarded but I kept it as a draft.

When I went back to work on the draft I kept exaggerating until it became what it is now: a blend of absurdity refined into a narrative core. The contrast between scientific language and silliness comes from two separate ideas that just ended up meshing really well. It’s dumb, it’s ridiculous, but it takes itself so seriously that I decided to fully embrace it and keep taking this absurd concept to its limits. Besides, it's something quite different.
